can I put new style tank and rear body work on an 89?  will all bolts, etc. line up?

From what I have read on here, you will need to modify the tank bracket a bit. The seat will come up on the tank and will need to be shortened. The rear plastics will work. Correct me if I am wrong.....I am also interested in this...

The 01+ tank will fit without any problems. The 01+ tail body work, seat and grab rail have different mounting points. You will need to make new brackets for them to mount. Not hard if you have a welder.

I used the mounts from an 05 frame to install an 04 tank & 05 tail on my 97.
