I just bought a 97' vs800 (aka-intruder) and wow is it like sitting on a velvet padded seat. I just can't get over how comfortalble it is even after riding it home last week for 80miles. and the tourque is...well it plants your bum down and you feel the front sag come all the way up. I don't like the fact that it dosn't have a tac-ometer, but in terms of revs its much closer to driving a car. I LOVE Vtwin grumble too. It can pull 3rd gear from stand still. And it has some serious BLING'n Chrome every where ;) + shaft drive (no messy chain gunk)

That all comes to a hault when I was out in the parking lot before this snow storm today....I could never get the GS all the way down to the pegs, close but not close enough, my FZR600 I got to touch the pegs on a few occasions, scared the crap out of me the first time :o but live and learn then I got this cruzier....I had sparks flying from the case guards/highway pegs. Considering 570lbs and a single dinky two piston caliper brake, it stops ok. Granted if you lock up the tire it dosn't matter what brake system you have. FYI I Vtwins have their own trans braking attitude, compared to a i4 or parallel, Its much more "grunting" I was not expecting that jerk foward.

Ok enough gauking, I miss my lean angle.  I think i'm going to get a supermoto just to "play" with, but I only see tons of DZR400's....Doesn't KTM make one? Where can I get some information on them? I think their street legal? But from my understanding they are basicly GS500's on steroids (in terms of supension).....someone point me in the general direction....

It was ugly grey....now cherry red, seems like I don't ever buy a bike and ride it before re-painting it :cookoo:

hehehe hurry up Santa, bring me them pipes! O check this out I black-mailed the gf, that she can't get a ride until she gets gear.  :kiss3: Ten minutes later she's online ordering stuff :kiss3: :kiss3:

FYI from my readings the s50 (aka-old intruder) can crank 60hp and 52ft/lbs stock :icon_mrgreen:
SV650 is 70hp/45 I think...

very very very nice choice
friend of mine has one, and they are kick ass. stock seat may start to hurt after a few hours though.
the corbin gunfighter can be ordered customized to you ass for like $300ish, my buddy got one and loves it

as far as exhaust goes, the jardine slipons sound and look REAL nice, and you cant go wrong with vance and hines

http://intruderalert.com/cafe/index.cfm    < this is  a great forum for the intruders, and all the other suzuki cruisers. TONS of great info there

and yea, the backlash when you come of the throttle takes some getting used to. theres a touch to it.

ive got a C50 myself. the intruder is a hair quicker stock cause its lighter, but my pipes+intake+chip made it about dead even between the two.

this is my buddies - hes got the jardines, he also has a real nice set of drag bars that i think are much nicer then the stock bars.

I paided 2k for it , 97' with 6k miles I couldn't pass it up.....:thumb: had to drive 200miles to get it tho.... :icon_rolleyes:

I'm debating between the jardine rumblers or the Cobra slash cut, I couldn't find/hear a V&H system and it's more expensive....But I do like the rumblers, it will probably come down to whatever one I can find in stock w/ free shipping :icon_mrgreen: I'm watching a set on fle-bay for $269....

The other thing I want before spring is a drag bar or something comparative to the S50 bar set up. This 80's hippy bar is to narrow. I feel like it will smack me in the face if I do a hard turn.

damn that is a good deal.

the jardines do sound pretty damn good. ive got vance straights on mine (which sound *phenomenal*) but they dont make them for the intruder
vance only makes the classic IIs for the intruder, which i havent heard., but im betting they sound pretty good too

That's a pretty fast couch you have there!   :thumb:

I like the paint job too.  Nice color choice.

Friend of mine rides one, loves it to death.  I don't know if I could get used to the riding position though.
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

Ducati make a hypermotard with desmocedici 1100cc engine - not as expensive as you might think

Yamaha do an XT660 supermoto

BMW do G- something or cant remeber engine size but there is 3 in the model, X-trail, X-country... check the website

KTM 690 supermoto and a 950 suptermoto

Aprillia do a suped up supermoto which is insanely expensive and needs a full engine rebuild every 100 hours

Theres plenty nearly every manafacturer has one!
