oil coolers

has anyone tried to put an oil cooler off of an F model on to an E model? doesnt seem like it should be that differant considering they are the same bike except for the fairings. if any one has has were did you get everything needed to do so?

Why do you think you need an oil cooler?? Most air-cooled engines are running too cool most of the time, not too hot.

Think again, there are more difference than meet the eye... like the additional plumbing for the oil cooler lines that are cast into the cases of the 04+ engines. An oil cooler could be added but it will be a lot of work.

You need to swap sumps between the unfaired and the faired version that seems to be the biggest thing :thumb: :cheers:

well im thinking about tring to add an F fairing to the front.  dont get me wrong i love the way it looks naked and all just want to see what it look likes with a new model F front end. but if it's going to be more trouble than it's worth than forget it.

Considering that if I take my fairings off, my F looks like an E. I think yours would pretty much look like any F.  :laugh:

But I get what you mean.

Sump? The plumbing is cast into the lower case. You will need to swap the lower case, along with the upper case since they are line bored together and of course the oil pan.

easy fix. get an engine from an f and swap. cooler and all. ( well might have to fab a cooler mount. but wait until the day after you bost dammit my farkin engine blew/ then get an f engine plumbing O0
