beagles may be great with children but i find them utterly annoying. i had a neighbor once that had prolly 15 beagle pups. f%$kers barked all the time. anytime a leaf fell from the tree etc, they'd bark for hours.

They're a PITA  till they turn about 2. Ours is just coming good, there's been a few times he's nearly gone to the pound.

Why doesnt everyone post pictures of their beautiful dogs with the breed and little review or comment about them? Id love to see what everyone has since i havnt had a dog since my parents had one when i was young. I want one now, now im moving out on my own and can make my own decision.

However the dog we had when i was young was a border collie called melon, she was gorgeous. However we had to have her put down, when i first started crawling she go abit excited and bit my nose off (sounds so cartoonish) - doctors fixed the nose but she had to be put down because once she'd bitten me my mum and dad didnt trust her with their niece's nephews and my younger sister. I personally don't think its fair because she is a collie, she was doing what they do naturally, i mean a baby crawling to her is another animal to round up like sheep in her nature and she just got over excited one day.

How do boxers do with kids? Asolutely fantastic as long as the children treat the pup decently. One of the most loyal and fiercely defensive animals one of my cousins ever had was a boxer. Pitbulls believe it or not are also excellent as long as kids respect the animal and the animal is raised with them in a caring environment then large breed dogs make great pets for children. In this day and age letting your kids out to play is dangerous unless you go out with them but the loyalty and protectiveness of a "Vicious dog breed" is a pretty good safegaurd.

You have experience with the breed or similiar breeds? Your good with animals right? I say go for it. A rescue animal would be cooler but $150 is reasonable as well.

Boxers are great all round dogs and are unusually good with children.  I used to raise train and show them

as i've posted before, the reason we were leaning towards a boxer was the fact my wife's parents have one. Addy(the dog)was brought home pretty much around the same time as my oldest daughter. the dog is 5 and the daughter will soon be five. Addy is great with all my girls. she's curious of the baby but she knows her limits. she acts like a big puppy. she will play tug with my kids and use little force. she tries to tug my arm off. she's even gotten in-between my and my oldest once when we were wrestling on the floor. very protective of my kids. as i've stated, that's my main concern. i'd like a dog my children can play with safetly yet the dog will fiercely protect them if need be.

My next is going to be a wolf hybrid.  They are truly incredible animals.

Have fun with that High percenatge hybrids are a PITA. Do  you have lots of land? Your going to need it to be fair to the animal. I had a hybrid that was bred to about 90% arctic wolf in the bloodline what a pain in the ass it ate everything in the house and I mean everything including door knobs. It ate a stereo and a televison once. My first wife took him when we split man I was so glad she wanted him.

Wolf hybrids make terrible pets. They are shy of people hard to yetain and very districtive. To the best of my knowlege their are no reputable hybrid breeders
