the top of a fireroad it is all down hill from here, not necessarily a good thing

Survived and made it back to the truck

My New Years resolution was to get out on some of the dirt roads in California. New Years day a friend of mine and I hit the road early in the morning with two KTMs in the truck and headed up to Gorman California. Basically Gorman is a big dirt paradise. The place offers steep hill climbs, whoop de dos, sandy gulches and rocky fireroads. My plan was not to drop the bike, and ride safely and conservatively learning as much as I can along the way. My neighbors plan was to teach me how to ride over and around all this stuff without killing myself. I was successful not dropping the bike and ended the day so tired. It is so cool not to have to worry about cars and just ride your heart out. If you havent yet had the opportunity to leave the GS500 at home and get out the dirt then make it a goal for something new to do. I think this has made me a better rider, but not only that it has made me more excited to ride a motorcycle.
