Pandy! AWE some!!!   :thumb:  Isn't dirt a kick?! I LOVE little dirt bikes (used to ride dual sports). They are a ton of fun. Do as much as you can, it really makes for a better rider on the street, even though technique is way different. I think it adds confidence.

Dang, are you going to be having a TON of FUN!!!   :icon_mrgreen:  Keep us up to "speed"....!

As for bruises and being whupped, it will be easier next time out, and it's the most physically demanding sport (motocross). Yeah, exercise and flexibility work will help.

With sand on a light little bike like that you actually want to go fast enough to kind of skate on top of it. If a wheel starts to sink, buhbye! The bike will wiggle like crazy going faster, but if you are on the pegs and your weight is back and you're keeping up the entry speed, it should just skate along. Hang on and go with it. I always rode sand fine when I didn't SEE IT COMING, I'd just hit the gas because I didn't have time to think. If I saw it and it was deep and a long patch, I'd freak myself out! It's hard work pushing even a little bike in that stuff!     I haven't ridden dirt on anything with a motor in it since the late 70s, last bike was a classic, a Honda CR125 Elsinor. It kicked butt back then. But it was only a couple of times on that, I rode an 80 a lot before that. But an hour on the CR and I was exhausted, I bonked so bad I thought I was going to need to go to a hospital!!!

Oh, next time TAKE PICTURES! A THREAD LIKE THIS IS "WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICTURES"!!

From the look of that big hill climb in the last picture, it appears you went to Hollister. I went there a month ago for my first dirt ride and had a blast too. Now I just need to fit a dirtbike and a pickup into the budget.

I had the pickup and the dirt bike, sold 'em and got the GS...    8)

Both the quad pics are out here at Pismo Dunes (Oceano State Park). Some GNARLY hills now though, still alot of fun, we take our trucks out there about every other week. Only 2 hours from here, Hollister hills is a bit of a shot, Gorman is closer. I love Millwood too, its only 45 min to an hour away from here, LOTS of trails.

LOL! By the time it came time to take pics of me, I was too busy glaring at everything (especially the bearded one), and trying to stay upright in the sand...  I'll take pics BEFORE heading out next time! :o

It was Hollister Hills, and it was a BLAST!!!!!!!! I can't wait to go back again!!! I've been looking at tiny rigs to pull a little dirt bike with my Honda.  :icon_mrgreen:

Wait...who said exercise is more than just mixing margaritas!!! Shots of Patron are EXCELLENT for practicing balance!!!  :icon_twisted:
