I actually didnt have problem with how they moderated but WHO they moderated playing favorites and letting some people get away with murder and choking others.  I was the first to applaud the banning of OMW because he's an ignorant douchebag who seemingly loves to hear himself ramble.  Oh Revere2 just keep on pretending that you arent OMW, yeah everyone believes you buddy.  What I really had issue with was the deletion of the chatroom thread without contacting the starter of that thread considering it didnt violate any of the forum rules.  Had either Lissa or I been contacted we could have come to an agreement on how to frame and use the board as a launching place for the chat room.  And mind you this took place well over a year after the thread had been started.  It wasnt a problem for over a year then suddenly it was?  I dont know but I think someone was paranoid that all we did was sit around and talk about her.  Which we didnt because the users of
the chat room are way more interesting than that.  How is that board sponsored chat room coming along anyway?

And thanks for getting the irony of the whole situation.  I enjoyed it very very much, myself.

Back end database system, what is it? PHP? Your using a host right how often do they back up? Want to back up your own? This can be done with just a browser with MySQL PHP databases.

BTW your host should be able to take you back in time to recover your lost poasts you should call them.

Well, I s'pose it's given some people a laugh but it was just vandalism pure and simple, no excuse for that.

Ok how much DBA experience do you have? Automating a process isn't all that hard. There is also a suite of admin tools available for PHP but again some hosts dont give you rights to run executables on the server. The php script i linked can run on a safe mode server, you just have to put it in the proper directory. and automation of the process is as easy as automating a windows VB script to launch a web browser and refresh that page.

Personally if your really interested in making a go of it a paid hosting solution and advertiser free installation of phpBB makes more sense because you actually get some control within your own domain.

Anytime man if you need help shoot me a PM, My database experience is alll on big iron, IBM midrange DB2 systems but have some buddies I can tap if I can't answer your question directly. Been meaning to start playing with MySql databasees just don't have time I have too many irons in the fire most of the time.

I really need to configure the apache services on my AS/400 at home and start playing there but after working on one all day I kinda get tired of playing with them.

any admin on here? who can answer ?, the question is, how much bandwidth does teh twin use, orwhat would be a good starting point?
