Hey all,

New here, but I've read plenty of pages and gained a ton of info already.  I've got a 94 GS, and recently picked up a 95 with a blown crank as a parts bike.  I'm planning on painting and using the tank and plastics from the 95, but I'm wondering about the rust thing.  I've read about the POR-15 coating, but there is very, very minimal rust in there.  Only in one spot, about a 2 inch square, and it hasn't broken the surface or anything.  It just looks discolored a little bit.  Do I even need to worry about it?

Thanks

you could just mount it on the bike, use it for a while then remove float bowls from the carbs and look inside. If there is the brown rust sediment in the bowls, I'd recomend lining it.

Ill bump that and add in that you might want to include an inline fuel filter as a safety net...it only costs $2 and is within anyone's budget. :thumb:

From your description I wouldn't worry about it O0
A fuel filter is always cheap insurance :thumb:
