I want a Nintendo Wii, but I don't want to pay more than retail for it.  Does that make me crazy?

Still a hot commodity? I'll pick one up and ship it to you, i see them in stores all the time.

I went to 6 retail stores today, all were out of stock.  The only websites that sell them, are selling them for over $100 more than retail price!

retailers have them all day long in tampa for $239-$339 or something like that. i think they make them with a bigger harddrive or soemthing ?

Here Wii's are sold for 570$    ,actually everything costs X4 than in states here...still if I had the $ I'd buy it

weird. The system is good, but not that good. Not sure why they are inflated so much, it almost seems like the Tickle me Elmo things from a few years ago... Maybe a fad until the PS3 has the units out there.

When the Wii came out I stood in line for a few.  I had a friend that was the manager at best buy and ended up with 3 of em.  Kept one and sold the other two for $850 a piece   Capitalism f%$king kicks ass!!

Insanely fun- they can still be had for retail .
I got mine by going to http://wiitracker.com/ and finding out when local stores got their shipments in. At that point, just run in there at the right time and go for it.
Disclaimer: It was wrong twice, but the third time I got one and it was so worth it.

christmas eve 2007, a guy had  a white jeep cherokee on FL SR-60 three blocks from me. He had the back end behind the seat FULL of wii's. He had one box (box only i guess) on his hood, with a sign for $500 iirc. (i really don't remember the price, but it sounds right)

.......... and a line of people with cash in hand............

so even if he got them for a premium of $300, he cleared $200 each, no sales tax, no income tax, and he must have had 15 in the truck.

I just bought my girlfriend one for valentines day.
Same thing here. They retail for 250 but you'll never find one in stock. The guy at Circuit City told me he orders 30 a month and has only gotten 3 over the last few months.
So I payed the grossly inflated price on the internet...430. Sounds crazy, I know but She wanted one sooooooooo bad....lets just say it was worth it.
