desmo checks take like a couple hours and a little before hand research.  Think of it like balancing carburetors for the first time.

spc

Looks like a little patience and some good research, including the videos drom ducatitech.com, and I'll be good to go.

makenzie71

also hit up ducati.ms...they're a bit busy but there's a lot of hardcore desmo and mv gurus there.

That's where I've been digging around :thumb:

Going apeshit waiting.....................

ben2go

I was about to ask if you heard anything or had picked it up.
PICS are GONE never TO return.

spc

Supposed to pick it up Saturday.............I've already got a shop that's gonna cut the fairing for the headlight and I have some ideas for the tail light.

ben2go

Cool. What size and set up are you going with on the head light(s)?Any ideas on signals?
PICS are GONE never TO return.

spc

I'm gonna have a local custom shop cut the fairing to put the stock light in. Integrated rear signals none in front.   I'm probably going to ride it home with someone staying close by, can't find a truck

Ughhh, patiently waiting on the title to come in sucks.  Hoping it comes in on monday so I can pick up the bike wednesday.  I haven't been getting much riding in on the Gix anyway between playing with the new brakes to get em right and being sick.

makenzie71

I thought you were picking the bike up yesterday...

spc

Nope, he thought the title had come in, didn't check.  It was for another vehicle he bought.  He called the DOR and they said it had been mailed so hopefully he gets it monday or tuesday.

spc

WOOHOO!!!!!  Title came in today so I'm going to pick it up tomorrow!!!!!  From what I've researched, I should have this thing back to street legal in no time.  The nose fairing appears stock with an insert over the light cutout so I should be able to pop it out and bolt in the light, just leaves a taillight to figure out :thumb:

Get some more pics up once you get it all figured out. I'd like to see how it turns out. Congrats on the new bike!

It's night. Pictures :dunno_white:
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

spc

light in the garage burnt out and it's been pouring all day.  Will get pics tomorrow morning and should be posting em during work hours.
Hey who knew that running a Duc with Termi's in an enclosed trailer could temporarily damage your hearing?????  I know that now.  Ridiculously loud.

First impression from the  very few miles I got in before loading it up to carry back to SC:

Smooth, very freaking smooth.  It practically begs for obscene lean angles and the power delivery is very even up to a little shy of 8k where it dwindles.  The Brembo's all around live up to their name and stop very confidently while the Showa suspension while not the best ever feels a little more solid than the Gixxer.

She's in my garage screaming to be ridden right now, looks like getting her lit up should be moderately easy.  The 'track' fairing is just the stock with a piece of plastic filling in the headlight hole, all fairing stays are present and I have the headlight and I believe wiring too.  The Tail light may be fun as I just have the solo tail which does not accomodate the stock fixture.

I still have ringing in my ears  I should have thought that through a little more

Dumbass way to go injure your hearing

I am no longer allowed to fire my bike in the garage... :dunno_white:

I have had to stop several times to take my helmet off and stick my earplugs back in after a gas stop when I forget them. The first time I pull through 8K I'm all WTF that hurts.

I don't think I'm gonna be allowed to light this beast up in my neighborhood.  Earplugs could be a good idea, I'll have to keep those in mind :thumb:
