so i just did my first oil change, put the battery back in, lubed the chain, and cleaned the air filter.

after replacing the air filter, i noticed a hose that looks like it should be connected to something (its got a flared end), but isnt.  its the hose that has a stay on one of the air filter screws, on the shift/clutch side of the bike, closest to the battery.  it appears to be just a little under 1/2" (i know its not metric) in diameter.  the free end from the stay isnt long enough to connect to anything that i can see that appears to be a free connector.

i oversprayed some chain lube and it hit the tire, is that going to run anything?

and finally, toolbox that i am, i got some armorall on my helmet.  is it time to replace it?

As far as the helmet unless you sprayed it on the visor/glass I wouldn't worry about it, even then you can just buy a new visor. if you just sprayed it on the painted part then wipe it off and ride  :thumb: If anything it will help your head slide across the pavement easier

And the lube on the tire, just ride easy for a good 50 miles or if you got allot on there you can use some sand paper to "scrub in the tires"

the hose sounds like its the drain but I couldn't be sure w/o pics

looking at the manual that appears to make sense.  what the manual doesnt appear to be good at is showing where the other end of the line is supposed to be.  i rode for a bit saturday just to make sure the oil change went ok, and im really hesitant to ride anymore until i get this put back together.

do you know of any pictures that show where i should be looking for the connector that goes between the drain line and the recycle filter?
