is it 89 or 90 and which is my vin?

ok my sticker that has the vin says 89 but every other sticker that talks about the bike says 1990    is there any real difference?
ive been going by 1990 jettings and so on....and any body difference as in interchanges and so on for the motor too


also which is my vin cus on the sticker it reads like this

VIN ********       *********      THE SECOND SET OF NUMBERS ARE STAMPED BUT THE FIRST SET ARE PRINTED

anyone have car fax that would be willing to run my vin for me

If your bike is and 89 it will have clip on handle bars not standard bars.After 89 they came with standard bars only except in europe.

well i wish i had clip ons but dont
all i know is the vin plate says 89 but stickers say 1990 when it comes to the standards listing under the seat on rear fender thing

More than likely it was built late in 89 and considered a 90 model.

Do the 2 numbers come up to 16 digits?  I believe that Suzuki used the same VIN plate on several bikes and thus the first half of the VIN identifying it as a suzuki of that year would have been on all the plates and printed while the last half would have been stamped as it's specific to the exact vehicle.

8 spaces in from the last digit of the VIN should be a letter.  The letter is a code for the model year of the bike.
