Hey guys,

Ive had my GS for about half a year now and i've been using soft panniers to hold all my gear and they do the job fine but i'm looking into getting some hard lockable stuff (so i dont have to take everything with me when i leave the bike somewhere). Loads of places offer tob boxes galore but no-one sells a rack for hard panniers....

Has anyone ever put hard panniers on a GS? found some tubular that fits or even modded a rack from another bike? (i dont mind doing a bit of hacksaw work to get a rack to fit..

I see you are in UK, there seems to be more available in hard luggage for the GS on the EU market than here in US that I've seen in pics.  What year GS?

That looks like the Givi and Five Stars top and side racks in pics linked above.  Only the top rack from Givi but Five Stars has the Side racks too but quite pricey.  Kerry has the Five Star racks, we can order from here:

Besides these, TwistedThrottle also lists the SW-Motech top rack and Krauser top and side racks.  Top racks for all years but side racks for older pre 01 GS's from Krauser.

Thanks guys, i went on twisted throttle and they said the side racks for the GS had been discontinued. Looked on the krauser site and they still do them   . Do the krauser ones fit givi, kappa luggage etc... or only krauser ones?

I see you've changed your front end to a katana front end, did you use the instruments from the gsx or the gs? was it a difficult job?
