Okay, I've just started work on this today.

While I may sell some things on here, I am curious about ebay. So even if I have a part please dont be offended if I end up saving it for the flea market.

GS500F
20k mi, yellow, progressive springs, no mechanical problems.

Parts I DO NOT have: [to possibly be edited and updated]

Front fork upper tubes
Front fairings (all)
Headlamp assembly (I do have amber pilot light and its corresponding parts)
Front fairing mount
LH rearview mirror
lefthand case cover (emblem)
lefthand rearset

Otherwise I do have the parts still.

Condition of other parts:

Brand new Yuasa battery, brand new condition.
Frame is good and straight front and back. Black paint on frame is good.
Engine is good, runs strong, no problems, valve checked at 14k.
Wheels/tires are good.
Carbs good, clean.
Tank paint is good but tank is dimpled on each forward corner. Paint glossy on these areas. Tank interior is virgin.
Exhaust can is dimpled lightly, right in the middle.

I think I have everything else.

Some pics:

So thats most of what I pulled today. Good enough for now... its getting late.

I know someone who is looking for a good frame and swingarm, along with whatever other bits he'd need to swap an engine into it. How much are you asking for those items? I'll pass the word along and get back to you as soon as I hear from him. His wife has told him NO MORE PROJECTS, but we all know how that works... He's not too far from you; he lives in Palmdale, probably about 40 miles away, so you wouldn't have to ship anything, he could pick it up.

Also, how much for the tank, tailpiece, and battery? I don't know what he has or needs, so it can't hurt to ask...

EDIT: Forgot to ask about the carbs; how much for the carbs? How about the intake boots? Thanks

Hi,

I'm looking for both the front brake and clutch levers. If you have it, I'd also take the rear shock adjustment tool. What is your asking price for these parts?

Thank you, Roberto.

p.s. PM sent also

OK, got a call from my friend; now I'd also like to know your asking price for the front caliper and master cylinder, along with BOTH wheels and tires, besides the other stuff I've already inquired about (frame and swingarm, tank, tailpiece, battery, carbs and intake boots)...

Thanks again; wheels are in motion...

Hey. Please let me know how much you'd be willing to sell the front blinkers for (mainly r.h., but may as well do both), or if you slap them on eBay . Want to get my bike looking a lil' prettier. (How interchangable are the turn signals? I've got an early 90s gs).

From front to back they have to be modded on E models.Other than that any E models will work and rear F models will work.Unsure about F model fronts on an E model and vice versa.
PICS are GONE never TO return.

I dont know what market value for these parts are. Retail value is relatively easy to find, I would estimate a low percentage of that to be a fair used price, i.e. 20-35%, or higher for like-new condition, but I noticed ppl tend to ask for very low prices on here. Like gauges which would cost you hundreds of dollars apiece, and I am expected to sell them for the price of one order of chicken pad thai and a small wonton soup? This is understandable, but it dont seem right.

I am caught between not wanting to give away parts for less than they're worth, and being an @ss and asking for too much. In no particular order here is what I have been thinking for parts. Because my PMs are hard to track on here and I haven't written up a list yet, there might be discrepancies in what I have quoted. Anybody feel free to weigh in.

Turnsignals set of 4, $51 shipped
Tank, dimpled on fwd edges, glossy. $175
Engine as a whole, healthy $600
Frame and rear swingarm, straight $600
Wheels, BT45 tires, brake discs, sprockets, straight $150 each, fully assembled
Carbs $225
Muffler and headers $40 due to dent
New Yuasa batt $65
RH rearview mirror, clear mirror, plastic scuff, $25

I would be interested to hear people's opinion. Im sure some people think some of these are high, go ahead and say so if you have buying or selling market experience. I have only posted a few things on ebay so far. You can see them here http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2004-GS500F-Tail-Fairing-Set-Yellow-Complete-Glossy_W0QQitemZ170206969829QQihZ007QQcategoryZ35583QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Anyway, cool!

Not without a lot of welding and fabrication.

Gee. I was wondering why my motherf%$king ebay listings werent getting any bids or hits.

I did searches for one and hey, guess what? It doesn't show up anywhere on ebay.

I think sometimes it may take a day or so for the auction to show up. Did you mistakenly set a "start date" sometime in the future? I would suggest contacting eBay (they have live text message support) and just asking for confirmation/clarification.
