Rejet Question

My carbs are screwed up and I'm not confident enough at this point to try to clean and adjust them (I just got the bike this past weekend).  I pulled the carbs and I'm thinking about taking them to my local Suzuki Stealership to have them cleaned and rejetted.  My question is:

If my bike is entirely stock and I want to rejet to make it a little less lean can I have them rejet to 40 pilot and 125 mains WITHOUT adding the washer to the needle jets and without adjusting the pilot fuel screw?

I just don't know if a dealer would do those type of mods to the carb for me.

If everything is stock, you can probably rejet according to factory specs, maybe try +/- a size on each.  Unfortunately rejetting is sort of trial and error so if the dealer rejetted and things still weren't right you'd have to have them rejet again.  Rejetting yourself isn't all that difficult, when I did mine the biggest problems I had was screw heads ripping.  Plus you learn A LOT about carbs in the process.  Look around and use the search feature to find threads on the subject.  There is a ton of info here.

Oh yes, they'll lub lub lub to do those mods for you. They'll charge you $10-20 a jet, $100 for whatever they do to the carbs, and then $100 on your subsequent visits to fix what they muck up in the process.

If you want to send them off, ping srinath, or buddha or whatever prince is calling himself now ;) and he'll hook you up nice and on the cheap. :)

I've PM'ed him a couple of times in the past couple days and haven't heard anything back...plus I'm not to keen on the 3 week turnaround time.  I found a local Indie mechanic today that said he could get it taken care of.  He's old, Suzuki certified, recommended, and affordable...the kind of guy that will let me watch so I can learn something.  I think I'm going to go with him for now just because it is getting nice outside and I want to ride.

I haven't even had the bike 4 days so I don't really know what would need tweeking or what its quirks are.  Maybe after a season of riding I can fine-tune my carb (during the winter).

40 and 125 or 127.5 would be the best for stock air filter and exhaust.Unless the mixture screws have been messed with previously,I wouldn't adjust them without test riding it.1 washer under the needle might help.Remember to compensate for riding at high altitudes.Take a look mat this. http://gstwin.com/rejet.htm
