WELCOME!

Adjust your idle w/ the GIANT screw in the center of the carbs to 1200/1500 I keep it about 1300

PRI to start and run to ride.Res to make it to a gas station if you run out of gas.
PICS are GONE never TO return.

PRI to start and run to ride.Res to make it to a gas station if you run out of gas.

Just to clarify, if you are riding your GS regularly (at least once a week), you can set it on RUN and leave it all the time.  Use PRI when starting if the carb float bowls are likely to be empty or low -- for example, if it has been 2-3 weeks since your last ride, or if you ran it out of gas and have just filled the tank.

PRI = completely open flow to carbs under all conditions
RUN = vacuum-operated petcock (flow when engine is running)
RES = vacuum-operated, but draws from a lower outlet in the tank to get the last bit of gas out to get you to a station after you have run out on the RUN setting

In addition, there is a well-known and well-documented problem with the petcock.  Search fuel starvation on this forum and you'll find lots of info.
