I use adjustable quality C-spanner with no problems ,but I also spray WD40 on the shock linkages once in a while

GS loves that stuff more than oil  ;)

Not a good idea......WD40 is a penetrant, and with continued use it will find its way into the Needle Roller bearings in the various linkages and dissolve and wash out the grease thats in them.

I don't think there are bearings in the shock linkage ,so far no problems,I spray just enough to push the water out and prevent corrosion  :thumb:

Yep there are bearings in the shock linkage. They are very thin needle bearings.

WD40 would be ok for cleaning just dont spray it directly at the bearings and try not let any get in there.
