Yeah, but my valves always sound like they're about to explode :flipoff: and they only have to be serviced every other $50 do-it-yourself oil change :flipoff: :icon_rolleyes:

My baby Duc may be a maintenance hog but she's mine and I love her, especially when all the little squids on Gixxers drool over her........until all the Harley guys push em out of the way to compliment me on having a crotch rocket that doesn't sound like a turbo'ed honda accord.

Its gotta be nice being loved by everybody.

ya, but $40 for a gallon of oil is insane!  Let's not even get started on what little things like timing belts and brake light switches cost

Ja, and tensioners on both belts that are impossible to get to the right tension so you end up keeping em a little looser than spec because you've heard horror stories about too-tight belts breaking and engines blowing up. Ohhhhh, and don't forget the tension has to be measured on each cylinder at TDC and while they give you positioning marks for changing the belts they don't give you marks for TDC to tension them :icon_rolleyes:

The sound is enough to make a grown man cry, it really is a mean sounding bike.  And seriously, what other company offers an 'entry level' bike with Brembo calipers, rotors, master cylinders and wheels??  MV Agusta???  yeah those don't require shaZam!-tons of maintenance :icon_rolleyes:

GeeP

lol  Just yanking your chain.   :)

The shortened holeshot on my SV is wickedly loud too.  It was rattling the walls of my storage unit, the units to either side, and giving me an earache.  Nothing like the sound of a twin.   8)   :icon_mrgreen:

Well, I can't say purring like a kitten, more like thumping like a...  NEVERMIND!  But yeah, it's running.  It has a nice, slightly lumpy idle, very Ducatiesque.  Definately a sign of character.   :thumb:

I'll try to take a video tonight.   :icon_mrgreen:

Not to hijack the thread but I heard a Monster go by the other day (usually I'm in a car with the windows up or have a helmet on or they are parked) and was with my hubby and pointed and said "Oh hey look! ... WHAT IS THAT NOISE???!!! The infamous dry clutch was the response. But I could get used to it!

I love the trellis frame on both the Ducs and the SVs.  8)

Sheesh lady, I'm working on it!  Peoples around here got jobs, and lives ya know?

Actually, I still have a sensor or fuel pressure problem.  I'm waiting for the new gauge cluster to arrive so I can read the computer codes.  It runs right now, but it's blubberingly rich.  Once I get it dialed in I'll upload a vid.  :)
