Dear Friends,
at speeds around 140 kilometers ph, I notice some wiggeling in the rear of the bike.
is this normal? is there someting I can do to improve the stability?
here some details;
standard GS twin mk 2000. standard front spring very small fairing about 15 cm above the instrument painel.
1500 km new 150 pilot active michelins on standard wheel. 9000 km's on it.
coastal road dry not to good but fair.

tire might need balancing

Is the air pressure correct? Does the road have "rain grooves?" Mine has bad squirm on new rain grooves on the freeways here.

Most of the time it's caused by bad steering bearings,wheel bearings or tire air pressure being low.To check the steering bearings,put the bike on the center stand and try to pull and push the handle bars.They shouldn't move.If they do try tightening the center bolt.Wheel bearings are simple as spinning the wheel and trying to wiggle the wheel.This will require new bearings be installed.It's a pain but easily doable.Tire pressure you prolly already know.33psi front 36 psi rear riding solo.Sorry I don't know that in bar or for riding 2 up.

I 'll check things out, bearings can they be worn after 8000 kilometers? will check the tire pressure psi or kpg no problem its has both scales.

You maybe needing new shocks because I regularly travelled at 70-80mph to/from work when I had a Zephyr 550 it wiggled a little bit in the rear when I topped 100mph and I found out that one of the rear shockers had failed. After replacing them with a new set the rear end wiggle at high speed disappeared completely even at 125mph there was no shaking and it felt very safe at high speed from then on. but only do that when there is no cops, speed camera and nobody else on the road late at night !

Do check you tyre pressure !

yep the front fork was quite loose, Ime sure it is solved, tire pressure and wheel bearing look okay, traffic too busy today but it feels better already in curves.

and to -k8 thanx for the advice but fortunate I have the monoschock, wich is in my opinion one of the best motoinventions if it comes to handling.
