This afternoon, riding the GS across the Gandy bridge (Tampa, Florida) to work for yet another shift of mind numbing work I find myself riding in the midst of busa.  Shinny and pretty with an extended chromepolished swing arm and all, thinking to myself "Wow, it looks nice but...Too much for me."  Across the bridge and all is well when the rider of the busa giving a curtious nod pulls away from me with a small burst of speed.  A mile down the road I still have the busa in sight when I see a sleek newer corvette make a U-turn just in front of the slightly speeding (perhaps 65 in a 55)busa. :2guns:

Luckily the rider had presence of mind and a clear avenue to swerve around this attack, without being turned into some sort of sausge creature.  Loudly proffessing obsenities into my own helmet and keeping a watchful eye for others that may take the black corvette's same course of action I see the rider of the busa slow down and veer in right behind his would be preditor.  With another burst of speed the rider flys past the corvette and in the process, punch out the corvette's driver's side mirror. :icon_twisted:  The rider changes lanes (turn signal, head look, and all) takes a quick right turn and is gone, and when I pull up next the driver of the corvette at a red light, she is screaming at her cell phone to parties unknown.

Has anyone else ever happened upon a situation like this before?  I personally am in awe of this rider for extracting this little revenge on someone that could very easily have killed this rider due to sheer negligence.

i punched the door of a car in a similar situation and left quite a dent

I'm not going to deny having ever done something like this and thinking about it countless times, but the voice of reason must present itself at times.  This action most definitely left a sour taste in the mouth of the 'vette driver which she will most likely remember any time she sees any bike.

JeremyP

i can't say that i have ever punched anything while riding a motorcycle.
seems to risky.

at least the busa rider didnt  :2guns:

although i cannot condone the actions of the rider, i've done something similar. a guy in a pick up truck nearly ran me over while backing up. i cussed and screamed. moron actually stopped long enough to lose a tail light courtesy of my steel toes. was it wrong of me? (or the bike rider).  :dunno_white: probably. but in times like this your "fight or flight" reflexes sometimes take control and you do dumb shaZam!. at least the driver only lost a mirror. i've heard of people being killed over incidents like this.
finally a homeowner!

My buddy was going down one of the main veins of my home town here and a lady tried to open her car door on him for splitting.  He was doing about 5-10 mph and slammed his front brake, almost pulled an endo, and slammed the rear tire back down.  The lady closed her door, and he slowly rode by and punched her plastic mirror completely off her car.  Busted the thing clean off  :flipoff:  She was screaming at him trying to catch him and he just hit the light, and took off to work like nothing happened.  Great story of sweet revenge.

in the process, punch out the corvette's driver's side mirror. :icon_twisted:

I am guessing that this Busa rider has some kind of magical powers  :thumb: To pull beside a vehicle traveling forward and take your hand off the throttle without loosing rapid speed and still be able to hit the mirror ???

Magic

I didnt think of that ,

In The Uk , driver side would be the right , to would be my clutch hand . so i could wack it into 2 or 3rd and get a slap on a mirror , in the us would be alot harder!

A busa has sufficient hp to allow for a momentary closing of the throttle while maintaining speed.

bettingpython

accelerate for a slight overshoot and pull in the clutch... :icon_rolleyes:

Yeah I've done it and got caught for it, but the cop that pulled me over also saw the suv change lanes directly into me and damn near drive me into highway retaining wall because there's about an 8" shoulder and then wall.

She got charged with inattentive driving, I was ticketed for touching a moving vehicle and misdemeanor vandalism, dented her door panel with my boot. He "forgot" to sign the ticket making it an invalid warrant.

Now I shouldn't have done it because the hatred caused by my action could cause someone else to be injured, infuriating the public against bikes is not the right thing to do.

Of course cagers are like libs you can't reason with them so I do understand losing ones temper and Buddha Loves You slapping a cage :icon_confused:
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

yamahonkawazuki

lol @ the lib part, my worst "outburst " started like all the rest, cept im between an expidition, and 20ft deep ravine at speed, i knocked on the window HARD, didnt break it, and accelerated past, damned woman caught up with me, and was like WTF is your problem, me trying to get my heart under 150 BPM, calmy said, listen Buddha Loves You, you damn near ran me off the road,i was along side you when i knocked. she was like how come you didnt pull over, i was like WTF? " what into the ditch? ( now i was pissed ), she then "remembered what she had done, i at the time had a non functional helmet cam on my lid, pointing to it, was like i can take the recording to the PD and show it to them, if youd like ma'am, now i was in smart assish mode, she started apologising profusely

[aside] Using steel toes as riding boots is a bad idea. My motorcycling instructor likened it to "kicking a brick wall" in the event of a crash.

ya, all the bridges around here are full of idiots in cages. vigilante justice ftw. right or wrong, the Buddha Loves You in the vette might actually think twice when she sees another bike. maybe.

This sounds the most justified of any of these stories, since the lady was blatently trying to injure the rider.

The others, the moron drivers deserve to be smacked or have their car smashed, but there is a shred of possibility that what happened is completely due to the driver's lack of attention.  They should be held responsible for their actions like anyone else, but vigilante justice will just grow resentment, and the idiot cagers will just have it out for all riders

To Pass A Driving Test in this country u have to do a theory , which states what u can or cant do on the road , not only did the woman , completly ignore the Rules of the roads , the fact thought she could just swerve straight in front of me , missing me by a foot ,

She derseved a dent in her car, because had i not be so quick on the breaks , she would og had a 125cc Cruiser stuck in the back of her ,

I feel what i did was justified
