I was riding the freeway today and started all off a sudden my speedometer started dieing on me, it would go up to speed then drop off a bunch of times then it finally quit on me. I thought the worst and started thinking how much another one would cost me. Then when I got off the freeway to see what happened turns out the cable just came off the back  Has this happened to anyone before? I've now logged two miles that haven't registered on the odometer. I guess that's not as bad as the miles that aren't logged when they push those custom choppers around the lot at the custom chopper shop I always pass. Seriously no one is going to buy a $30,000 worked over rolling pile of chrome and uselessness. I pass by and see the same ones on display for sale for 4 years running. I do have to say they've been heavily discounted from the original price of $50,000. They also want $25,000 for a Harley "custom" (means they put ape hangers on it) anyone interested?  :cookoo:

stuff like that happens.  you should check your nuts and bolts every now and again to avoid stuff like that.  worse case it could have got caught up on the wheel and then that really would have been bad.  but i am glad it worked out for you
