I know how to pretty much remove the gauge panel. but I can't get it off without removing the trip meter dial? How do I do it? Sorry if not worded quite right.

What exactly are you trying to do?  By "Gauge Panel" do you mean the panel that mounts the meters and idiot lights?
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

I think I know what you mean. I wanted to remove the trip meter screw too, but realized I'd have to completely disassemble the whole guage cluster. So I didn't. What are you trying to do exactly?

seamax

There is a very tiny screw inside the plastic trip meter screw, you have to remove that first to take off the trip meter screw. You can see it from the side.
I had to use my eyeglass screw driver set to remove it because it was so small.

Yeah, seamax that is what I was talking about.

I am attaching a diode to the idiot light so it will work again. I had to remove it in order to get my led blinkers to work properly. But, I like my idiot light too! While it is off I have some carbon fiber decal and want to change it from the regular grey to a carbon look. It may not look good if not will take it off.

Will show pics when I'm done!

Thanks,

I tried today to get the screw out of the trip knob. I used a small phillips but no dice! Is it a special type of phillip's head screwdriver that you have to use? Also, when looking for the wires I'm kinda confused on hooking it up all I see is the wires coming from the speedometer. Are they hiding somewhere else. Was told this was an easy thing to do. I hope it is nothing like dealing with the led lights!

The Buddha

Hold the knob as you unscrew, and its a tiny phillips head.
Cool.
