it was holding at $1500 until the final hours. But that price seems a lot high for a 93. Mines the same year and even mileage and at best I thought id get $1000 for it if i sold it. Between the price of gas and the beginning of the riding season in PA only being a couple weeks ago. But $2300 for a 93 what else do you say besides wow.

Posted this for all those "How much is my GS worth" threads.

The stickers on the frame drove the price up!   :thumb:

I missed those stickers. It adds 25hp to the bike

Well, that is one very clean looking GS, aside from the few scratches.

Hi there, all,

Well, actually, it doesn't seem unreasonable to me either.
I have a 1991 GS500E, as in the photo here in my reply.
It has 21,000 miles, I bought it as the second owner with 136 miles on it in 1993.
It is in beautiful condition, has all service records, well-maintained, has been garage-kept, perfect paint, no dents or dings, a Corbin saddle, stainless steel brake lines, Progressive springs, a Katana 600 rear shock (to be put on soon), Michelin Macadam tires, and more. There's no rust in the tank, it has working petcocks (replaced due to fuel starvation as all GS500s seem to do at one time or another), and a new DID o-ring chain and sprockets.
If I were to sell it, I'd fully expect to get $2300-2400.
Why you ask?
Because why buy a wreck that needs work for $1500 or so when you can buy a beautiful, perfect bike that has all the good stuff already?
A low mileage bike in excellent condition is worth the premium, regardless of what the price guides say. They are, after all, just guides.
The market prevails and smart buyers are willing to pay for quality.
I see too many people buy what they think are "cheap" motorcycles, then spend hundreds if not thousands to fix them up.
Better spent before you buy it, I think.
Best wishes,
Todd

Well simply because there are a lot of GS's around. And its been seen over and over that a 93 gets around $1500. Now you have a lot more invested in your bike. So your mileage may vary. Since your bikes not a standard GS. But it still 17 years old. People do watch the age of these

I think the low miles really helped the price out

That sounds excactly like my bike... 98 with just shy of 23k miles.  I was thinking I could get what I bought it for 4 years ago (and 16k miles ago), thanks to the sky high gas prices.  Just have to say 50-60mpg first thing in the ad!  I'm not going to do it, but it's nice to dream
