You are given a bone stock 500E, but only allowed to do ONE modification. What would it be? Buying a different brand/type of disposable, such as tire, oil, or filter doesn't count, but everything else does.

Оh noes, so many choices!

ohgood

my first preference would be for the rider

1) a quieter helmet
2) nice leathers
3) nicer boots

but since you didn't mention rider stuffs

1) EFI - electronic fuel injection
2) Suspension
3) Unlimited nuclear power that didn't roast the jewels so I never have to stop riding

if you're really picky, just don't notice 2 and 3. :)

Front sprocket of your choice! The biggest thing that will effect the performance of the stock model E. :2guns:
Well, either you're part of the problem, part of the solution,...

i would have to say fuel injection...it'd really be nice

realistically though, better springs in the front

+1 to progressive springs.

I have done a few things to my gs (K&N, Jetted, Kat 600 shock out back, 1 tooth down in the front) but the thing that made the biggest difference was the progressive springs upfront.  (especially considering I had maybe 1/3rd of the oil left in the forks when I finally had em rebuilt)

scratch

Suspension (straight-rate prefered).
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.
