I've been summoned to the dark side of the force.  I Traded the GS... for a cruiser.  I'm no longer among the leagues of canyon carvers and knee draggers but I am one with the leather wearers, chrome lovers and drag pipe slingers.  I bought a 04 V-Star, stiletto solo seat, flat bars & risers and V&H short shot pipes.  I got what I owed out of my bike, so I can't complain about the deal.  It was hard to hand them the keys, that was a hell of a bike... but there's been something in me lately wanting to be on a bike and not having to push it to be fun.  I loved laying off the bike, draggin my knees and all that but that's the only way I had any fun on that bike.  Riding w/ my brother and my old man on their stars and never leaving 5th gear cramped me up... it just wasn't any fun.  So now I'm puttin around on my sleek, black cruiser.  I'll still be kicking around, throwing in whatever I can to help with my experience on the GS.

1/2 lid and fat stogies probably wont be hap'nin... it is a completely different ride.  60mph and no windshield, hold on for dear life.   The best part is they took in my bike without even looking at it!  And I'm sure within the summer I would have needed a motor.

Me being used to also riding with cruiser guys, the "Dark Side" was putting a car tire on the back of your bike. Thought you found a car tire that fit on the GS.

How about a compromise? Put some ape hangers on your GS.  It would be so retro. I remember the old japanese "cruisers". They were basically ujm's with buckhorns.

Im sure you could put a couple of old 10" tires from a Mini the original BMC one. You didnt say that the tires had to be larger car ones.

Young padawan wants to be bad...just to clarify, the dark side is Honda, you bought a Yamaha, which is the biggest competition to Honda.  Kudos to you for choosing a Yamaha.

You will always be welcome here.
