So I am putting a brand new Jardine full exhaust on my '04 and the last thing I want is to drop my bike and scratch it all up.  I was considering frame sliders but after spending all this money on the exhaust I am not too sure.  I know I will have to cut holes in my fairings and all that... I am just confused as to which sliders will work for me.  I was also thinking about the case guards...will the ones at MC enterprises work and will those protect my exhaust in the event of a drop?  I am almost 99% sure I am defairing my bike so my main concern is protecting the exhaust.  What do you guys think?  Thanks.

ohgood

i've dropped mine on both sides a few times just for the hell of it. the V&H on mine didn't receive any scratches, which surprised me. maybe a set o guards is all it needs.  :thumb:

I have the MC Enterprises case guards and they look great (at least on a model with the black frame).  You would have great difficulty fitting them to a faired bike without serious fairing modification.

They look like they'd do an excellent job protecting the engine and crankcase, however I doubt they'd do anything to protect your new zorst - wrong end of the bike!

Can I use frame sliders made for a Gixxer?  With frame sliders do you basically get what you pay for?  Thanks.

When you install frame sliders you have to replace the engine mount bolt with a longer one.GSXR's won't work.

R&G makes frame sliders for our bikes- you'll have to cut a hole in the fairing. They are easy to install

I think it needs to be said that if your primary concern is protecting your new exhaust from a crash, it is very unlikely that engine-mounted frame sliders or caseguards will do anything to help.  Unless you have something solid sticking out further than the exhaust at the tail it is inevitable that the exhaust is going to contact the ground.

They will, however, do a great job of protecting your engine and crankcase - damage to which is likely to eclipse any cost to your exhaust.  :thumb:

I am in Ajax, Ontario and I was just wondering where you got the R and G frame sliders? Did you get them from the UK site or were you able to get them in a bike shop or some other online store.

Jay_wolf

The companys in the uk yea , well if there is a huge demand for them i could maybe ask if they would do a dozen sets cheaper and i could post to the us , all you would pay is shipping and for the sliders , i wouldnt make any money but i would get a set for cheaper outta it  :thumb:

Yes you will.Or basicily cut all of the fairing away which defeats the purpose of having the fairing.
