the other day i was riding and thought, wow, its really open on this road, and its reeeaaaalllllly straight. so i decided to get on it a little. i was cruising at around 50 and hit it in 4th. the bike sorta tried to accelerate but bogged weird, not like starvation bogging but something ive never felt before. then i let off the throttle a little and once it was only about 1/4 or less twisted it started to accelerate pretty good.

at first i though that i maaaaaaay be a carb problem but a buddy of mine suggested adjusting the clutch.

do you guys think an ill-adjusted clutch would cause that kind of problem and if so how do i adjust it? i imagine and cant be too hard, ive just never played with a bike like that before.

thanks

never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly... or 10 mph over the speed limit if you like your license.

You experienced fuel starvation. Are you running your bike on PRIme?Could be dirty carbs or weak plugs. If you were having clutch issues your engine would have reved while the bike gained little to no forward speed.Basicly like hitting the throttle and pulling the clutch at the same time.

yeah im running on prime. would that cause top end problems?

i think first ill go for new plugs. they still look good but havent been replaced in 16000 miles.

The orifice inside the petcock that the prime get's it's fuel from is half the size as the fuel line size.If your bike is a pre 02 with the metal petcock knob then try these links.
