I was at a bmw dealer the other day and saw for the first time a bmw 1 series car.  They make a twin turbo V6 300 horsepower 1 series car.  That thing is so light it must be a rocket.  That and the x6 are dead sexy.  God I need to move out of cali to be able to afford these things.
GS500E with a bunch of cool stuff!

The M1 is straight badass.  I'd love to have one...but a K5 GSXR1000 or a Ducati 998S are a lot cheaper.  I'd absolutely love to have a K5 1k.

i agree on the BMW. i'd love to have one. i've never seen one of the new 1 series in person however. i almost bought a 92 5 series. but that was a few years ago.

8-series, made in the early 90's and offered with several engine variants including a V-12.  Dinan made a supercharger kit for the V-12 option that when professionally tuned could produce around 700hp.

Mak: are you referring to BMW's only mid engine car?  Or the concept revival not yet released?

yamahonkawazuki

aye those things are cheap, as far as high end used cars goes nowadays but in all honesty i want one of these those are somewhat cheap as far as italian cars goes :thumb:

The 8 series is beautiful, but also very very heavy.  Much more a GT car.  The new 1-series is very cool, and much closer in size to my dad's 1990 325i than my newer 328i.  However, with all the safety and luxury equipment, it's still quite heavy, weighing in only 200 pounds lighter than the 3 series.

I see one of these a few times a week.  The power it has is phenomenal.  There's also a non-Scuderia black F430 spyder that just overflows with raw sex appeal.  I was talking to the Ferrari Tech on the island the other day and he said there's an Enzo here, but it's driven very very rarely.  He also said the Tubi exhaust on it is loud enough you can hear it right next to a jet getting ready to take off.  He's a Maser Tech also, but honestly they aren't anything special, there are a couple dozen of em on the island between GT's and Quattro's.

alice cooper does the night time stuff for a local rock station. i was listening to him talk about cars one night. he said he's owned well over 20 cars. most he said he's traded or sold at some point. he said the only car he has that he would never sell and recommends everyone get one is his aston martin.

sure, magnum PI...
they're cheap but still Ferarri expensive to maintain. I was looking at an older 330 2+2 which can be had for about the same dollars (daily driver condition, not show condition) but the maintenance is astronomical...Try $5000 tune ups, and try synchronizing the carbs yourself...a ferarri mech friend of mine says it takes a solid 8 hrs just to sync the carbs right.
I mean, can you imaging paying $25k for this? (big pic, sorry)
.
drives like a truck though...but I digress.
Ironically, again, I ended up buying my gs500 instead of a Ferrari, lol...hmmm, in hindsight the Ferrari might have been cheaper, lol.

Agreed. I also love the 8 series, but it is a heavy pig. You could buy one now, used for about $20k-ish. The 840 was the v8, 850 v12 but there's only 14hp on paper separating them and the v12 is much heavier. It really is a touring car in the spirit of the old GT cars.
Ironically, my 3.5L v6 g35 makes the same hp as the 850 v12 (300hp) , but weighs far less.

well, yeah!
Aston Martins are awesome...My absolute favorite car actually. I even have a 1:10 scale on my desk at work...
only $275k for the 12cyl or the 'entry level' v8 for only $175k...one day.
the v8 vantage

my favorite, DB9

first thing I'd buy if I won the lottery....
