Well, after many weekends of set backs and frustrations I finally almost finished my bike. It was finished enough to ride, so I went out for a quick spin. A couple of things I still need to address though, brakes are a bit spongy; I'm assuming there is still some air in the lines. So I'll need to bleed them again.

I also need to adjust the throttle cable, when I come to a stop some times the engine will rev up to about 3,000 rpm's. I know this because I played with the cable and the revs would come down. Anybody wanna give me some tips on that? Not sure how to go about it.

And lastly I have to get my gauges mounted up. And that should be it.

Anyway, here are some crappy camera phone pics I took when I got back. Sorry for the crappy scenery.

Bike looks good.........but

Instead of 'the buckeye state', Ohio should be 'The Douchebag State'.  I swear I'm gonna start shooting at mini-vans from Ohio randomly

Ry_Guy

It looks pretty cool without the guages. How is the handling with those clip ons?

ohgood

of course it looks great, good job. clip ons, kat kicks, kat sponges, and of course the blackie engine. love it. now get a proper camera and a nice setting. it'll make your bike look awesome.

Sweet ride mines coming together.

Throttle hang up.When I changed to a 1/6th throttle tube.Yep 1/6th.I had to reroute the throttle cable for a smoother curve in it.When I would turn the engine would rev way up.
PICS are GONE never TO return.

The clip ons feel great, a lot like the 89's, except slightly more lean. I didn't really wring it out in the corners because of the brakes, but I already can tell the handlng is going to be great.

I was going to ride down to the local river and take some shots with the sun setting, but I had my smoked visor on my helmet, so I couldn't ride at night. Hopefully I'll get some better pics soon.

Thanks, Ben. Can't wait to see yours all finished up.
I'm just going to mess with the routing of the cable to see if I can get it right. Unless I have to adjust, like I said, it only happens some times.

Thanks all for the compliments!

The frame is the stock charcoal color from '96. I bought some Dupli Color wheel paint that is fairly close, not exactly the same, but the closest I could find.

The tire is a 160, it seems so much wider than the old 130. I'm going to have to replace the front mudguard, the back of it was all melted so I trimmed it off and now there is a long crack that runs almost to the fork brace. So I'm on the lookout for either a kat fender or a bandit I guess.

Thanks for all the compliments.

It looks pretty bitchen' O0

The one thing that sticks out at me though is the stock taillight when everything else looks so low profile.  Maybe you could recess it a little somehow?

Exactly what I've been wanting to do. I agree it looks out of place, when I go to my welder to get the gauges mounted up I'll see what he can do about that. Maybe flip it and recess it. I think that would be pretty cool.

Wow, Bucks! That looks mean and gorgeous. If she has an SV frame, I would've sworn she was a Ducati from about 50 metres away. I can see what you wanted the clamp for. That looks cool.

Ry_Guy

You could just unscrew it and turn it upside down. It will screw back in that way but the tail fairing needs a little more jimmying to get back on. Easy.

I may give that a try, isn't the tail light clear on the bottom though. I think it would look good recessed and flipped, I've seen pictures of it before.
