I've got this idea to mount a hinge on the Tank and then to the frame so the tank swings up to make engine service easier...BUT I don't wanna F*** up my current tank so I want a junk tank to try out.  If anyone out there has an 89-00 GS tank they're gonna junk and they're in the Richmond, Va area, let me know so maybe we can work out a deal.  I'm certain I can make this work and if I can, I plan to document everything so I can post it.  Thanks for the help mates.

Most newer sport bikes do that, they also have a little stand built in to hold it llike a car hood prop

Thats the plan.  I'm always under the tank doing something and I always get the itch right after I fill up.   
Just a little something to do once the weather turns bad.  Hope I can get it done and posted soon so anyone interested can do it too.
