Found a manufacturer that makes exhausts for the GS.

There's not much aftermarket support for the GS, but today I found a manufacturer that makes a couple of exhausts for the GS.

The brand is "Laser". They make full-systems and slip-ons for the GS. You can choose for a full-system (streetlegal) full-system for racing, slip-on mufflers and a full system as replacement for the original one (looks rather ugly).  They also make downpipes specifically for racing. All systems are made of stainless steel, some have carbon mufflers.

Laser is a well known brand in Europe and they are known for exhausts that give a very deep tone. I've heard a full system on a Honda CB1 (400cc) and it sounded as deep as a 750cc bike at idle.

At least here in Finland I've only come across with Laser's full system and it's way too expensive for my taste. 550 EUROs. I guess that's more or less the same in USD.

Its ~$600... Plenty pricey... I guess its just a matter of time before the V&H's and Yosh's dust off the old dies and mandrels and start cranking them out again... Since its the new sport bike of 2004...
Cool.

It's expensive but still cheaper than a OEM exhaust. They are something like 600 euros. The Laser is made from stainless steel so it won't be rusted through in 3 years.

600 for a full system on a sportbike is normal... the m4 on my GS500 cost about that much (many thanks to the first owner  :thumb: ) and the Yoshimura Zyclone full system is usually 750-800.  Most slipons seem to run about 350-500 depending on brand and matterials used.  The V&H full system for the GS500 is a true bargain b/c it's under 300 if you can find them.

remus  also makes full system and slip on for gs500. available at www.mandp.co.uk and costs about $750 for full system. there are a few makers of exhaust for the gs, just not in the US (except for V&H).

V&H and yosh were ~300 when they were made... but yes they are standard steel headers and aluminum cans I guess... Making out of stainless wont make it that much more...
Cool.

Jen (on the wall of fame) is running a lazer exhaust.

My bike has a laser exhaust system (WOF page 5 first picture - the yellow one). It looks pretty cool, the pipe leading from where the two header pipes join (near the side stand) and the can itself is really fat, however the diameter of the pipe after the join itself is pretty thin (little more than the diameter of a single header pipe) so I'd doubt flow is any better than stock. I couldn't really say whether it sounds much different from stock, perhaps a bit more resonant. Won't rust though...

Is that the same Laser as the helmets? lots of them around here including my plastic head.
Black Beemer  - F800ST.
In Cricket the testicular guard, or Box, was introduced in 1874. The helmet was introduced in 1974. Is there a message??
