Haven't had much of a chance to look, but has anyone got any info on a specific battery I may want to use.

I'm looking for something that I can mount at an angle perhaps, even sideways laying down. Whats out there that would suit this app? Sealed? Gel?

Any thinner, and or smaller batteries in general?

I don't want to sacrifice to much power for smaller size but will do so a bit if it will make the end project look better.

Any 12V motocycle battery should work. I use a Ninja 250 battery as a spare since it fits any bike, plus I had it anyway.

If it is a sealed AGM battery, yep. The liquid is not liquid any more, so it can't run out the vent cap The Ninja 250 battery won't ft in the GS battery tray that way though.

I've seen some sealed batteries that state they should not be operated upside down. For example, the NPC series on the Yuasa website says:
"NPC battery can permanently be put into operation in any orientation with the exception of continuous use inverted"
