I was washing my bike the other day, and when i was cleaning around the front headlight assembly i guess i knocked of a strange part. Its made of some sort of white ceramic and it has a wire running through it. There is writing on it as well. Quote "10W 2RJ" I looked for the wire it came from and i can not seem to find it at all. The reason i think this is important is now the bike does not drive anymore. I can start it up fine and its idles nicely but when i give it some gas it dies. Does anyone have any clue what this part is and where abouts i can find the wire? I looked forever!!

Yep, thats the part. Do you think just because that fell off thats the reason the bike work drive? Like i said before. It starts up fine, idles great and then when i give it some throttle it just sputters and turn off.

That part has nothing to do with running.Have you tried starting the bike with the fuel valve in the PRIme position?Have you checked the fuel level? The GS can have fuel in it and it still won't run.Another thing is the fuel cap vents the fuel tank.It maybe clogged internally.I have a write up in the FAQ section about cleaning and greasing the gas cap.

All fuel systems are a go on the bike. It starts up fine in every fuel dial position. This is just the odd thing though. I drove my bike down to my friends home and we washed your bikes. Then when we were done, we were going to go for a ride, but my bike didnt drive anymore. It started fine but its just when i give it a bit of throttle it shuts off. Maybe water in the exhaust? I cant figure it out.

Does it do this on or off choke?  Or both ways?  Did you have a red sock on your left foot?  Do you think it's flooding out, or not getting enough gas when you twist the throttle.  Think maybe you got some water in the airbox and the extra wind speed entering the carbs is pulling some of the water in and stalling it?  Check the airbox.  Pull your air filter and crank the bike.  Look in each carb and observe the mist.  When you turn the throttle, does the mist go away, or get really thick?
