Hello, I just this 2004 GS400f and there is few issues with the bike. If anyone can help me I would Really appreciate.

1, My speedometer light is not working. (hard to see speed needle at night)
2, My RPM meter not working.
3, My Horn is not working.
4, High Beam light does not show up when I turn my high beam on.
5, How do I change oil & filter? And, What oil filter(s) are compatible with 2004 Suzuki GS400f? (links etc)

I really need help with these problem any educational reply would  be much appreciated.

Ok...

So far I have changed the High beam bulb, My RPM meter wires were lose so I tightened them so my RPM meter is now working.

I'm working on my Horn, speedometer light.

I also have just changed the oil and filter and added 2600ml (like it says on the engine) of oil. Now, When I start the bike, the oil start dripping very fast from the oil filter cap or somewhere around that. Any Idea whats going on? I (tightened the 3 acorn nuts on the filter cap to about 12 ft/lbs.) Please help. I Can't start bike or anything because of this.... waiting for help...

Did you make sure the nice o ring gasket on the oil filter cover was there and seated correctly, not pinched?

Yes It was in its place. I tool old one off and put in the new one which came with New FRAM filter

Well, not much to be said then other than a stripped stud probably. I just had it happen to me and had to replace all 3 studs.

if the 3 studs were stripped than I would  not be able to tighten the acorn nuts. I think its something else...

Even though you said you checked the cover plate and gasket, I would check it again.  Tighten the bolts to torque specs and run the engine again.  If it leaks oil again, I would get a new gasket.  I had the same problem you had and replacing the gasket fixed it.  If you over-tighten the acorn-nuts you risk stripping the studs.

Ok the problem has solved. The new rubber gasket which came with the filter somehow got torn apart upon installing. I opened up again and I put the old gasket back now there is no leakage.

Ok Finally ALL the issues have been solved. Except my horn. I think I need a new horn or something but, its not a big deal.

Dont worry bout it dude , have  u checked the connecters to the horn? , check there Clean , and tight , and swop them to wires over and see if it makes any difference ,

4D-40 and a wire brush does a really nice job on terminals. a little vaseline (a LITTLE!) before you re connect them will keep corrosion away.

the horn button assembly isn't complicated. you can take it apart and clean the contacts there too. along with your signal switch housing.

I don't know why I keep seeing Vaseline recommended for electrical applications! Just use dielectric grease - it's intended exactly for the purpose of maintaining good electrical connections. And on top of that, it's inexpensive.

it's prolly because 1 of 100 people have dielectric grease on hand and like 99 of 100 have vaseline handy...

The new issue has came up with my 04 GS500f. I was practicing turns etc and I dropped the bike at very slow speed (3mph). The left side of the bike touched the ground than right after that I Picked it up and try to start it but, it just won't start.

I used the other technique where you push the bike and try to start in the gear while the bike is moving. It worked out. Bike starts that way but, it won't start with the starter button.  .

Any ideas, thoughts what has happened to the bike?

Clutch switch or side stand switch is busted.
Maybe your battery acid also leaked and killed your battery. My Nov 2001 crash killed a perfectly good 5 year old batter this way.
Check fuses also.

Battery is fine. When I adjust one of the wire which is coming out of the start button it bike starts sometimes. I don't know if I should open the whole thing and check if there is something need to be replaced inside....?
