Man, I'm seeing GS500's all over this place as of late.  Yesterday evening I saw an E model exiting the Las Vegas Charlie's parking lot after it closed.  I waved but I don't think the guy saw me (even though he passed right by me).  Anyways, that wasn't anyone here, was it?

You'll be seeing mine soon!

I should be getting my carb parts soon and get this thing together!

I am chomping at the bit.....      :2guns:
I love it when a plan comes together.

Mod: Fenderectomy, Reflectorotomy, Targa turn signals, Blue gauge LED's, black footpegs front/rear, K&N lunchbox, Yoshimura slip-on, Buddha jetting (150/40/3/1), Pirelli Sport Demons (140rr 110fr), Kat shock, 15t frt sprocket & modded taillight lens.

What's up fellas?  I'm out in Elgin, I'm usually somewhere between Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates & Elgin.
<--I ride the bike in the pic.

laserred97gt: If you need a hand with the carbs, drop me a PM.  I just finished mine up.

Thanks JT.  I finished mine as well and have ridden it to work twice this week.  Sure is nice getting back in the saddle after not riding for years.

I'm really starting to dig my GS too.  Fun ride!

I have some more parts coming (already modded the fender, turn signals, jetted the carbs) and this weekend I'm throwing on the Sporet Demons I'm getting tomorrow and the lunchbox.

We should get together.

Maybe Hooters in Schaumburg or something...

I saw a red GS500E @ White Owl Lumber on St. Charles Road in Lombard the other day.

Looked pretty good.

Sounds like a plan.  Out of town this week, but off on Sundays.  If the weather cooperates, we should shoot for next week.  Drop me a note.

Hey all, I'm sure this has been asked before, but are there any good roads in the Western Suburbs?  My wife and I went for a sorta long ride yesterday (Sunday) down to Joliet and I was a bit disappointed with the roads.  I suppose they'd be alright sans traffic but if we're gonna ride that far, is there a better direction to go than south?

laserred97gt

I was at work pondering this exact same question today.

I just put on my Pirelli's and I am itching to take them out.

I know ogden (34) gets pretty sweet out past aurora.

Wow, this guy's like the Red Baron.  He's all over Lombard but no one knows who he is.  We should post a reward for information leading to the apprehension of this guy.

Hey, anyone own an old-school (90's) GS of the sky blue and red (pink?) trim variety?  I saw one when I stopped for gas at BP on Butterfield and Rte. 53 this afternoon.  A guy working in a the garage said it belonged to one of his employees but the owner was no where around.  Anyone here?

The naked version just grew on me today; I can see the appeal.  In fact, I may do the F to E conversion when I feel like I need a new bike.

Hello Everyone

New to this forum and also a new GS owner.  Just purchased what I like to call my GS rat.  Its a 93 GS 500e (of course).  Was owned by a little old lady who rode it to work everyday.  Was purchased for a grand.  Besides the cosmetic appearance this bike runs excellent.  Unfortunately it has a lot of small repairs that I would like to do before I proudly show it off on some major ride in the area.  If anyone locally know of a good shop that can redo electrical wiring and possible add an aftermarket turn signals.  BTW since it seems like the GS owners in the Chicagoland and neighboring suburbs can get together I will just start a webpage for us.  I will post more information and keep everyone updated on my progress.  In the meantime please let me know if this s a good idea or what

Peace
E

Welcome aboard, man.  Be sure to post up some pics when you get a chance.  I think the website is a great idea so count me in!

Hi Everyone,

I live on the northside of Chicago and would like to get riding group together.  I have an 05 gs and ride all over the chicagoland area, always looking for a good ride.

Welcome aboard, Leo.  Good luck with getting a ride together.  I'd put my name on the "I'm In" list but my bike is now in Lincoln, NE, for good (with me soon to follow).  I gotta tell ya, I'm pretty stoked to move there after visiting this weekend.  The roads are awesome and traffic is sparse so it should make riding a lot more fun.  Anyways, hopefully you can get something together before the season ends.

Ride Safe,

Mark
