Coming home from taco bell tonight I'm in the middle turning lane waiting for my chance to turn on to my street. A Dominos truck turns from the other direction and comes into the middle lane and is heading toward me. I wait for him to slow and wait AND WAIT!  :o So I start flashing bright to lows and finally the S.O.B slows down and stops a few feet from my front tire. A few seconds more and I was going to drop the bike and haul ass. The guy stops and just looks at me like a deer in headlights I wave at him to go, more like get the hell out of here before the shock turns into anger.  :x  I called and reported the jackass to his manager.  :nana:  I dont like Dominos anymore. I should of asked for some free pizza or something.

I assume he meant it was being delivered in a pick-up truck as opposed to a sedan.

Good fast thinking there, Ashman.  Glad you prevented getting hit.

Forget freebies.  If I had a dollar for every time somebody did something stupid and almost hit me (and my avoidance prevented an accident) I wouldn't have to work.  Would you expect to hand out money if you did something stupid and almost, but didn't, hit someone?

What is it with this get-paid mentality?  Instead, I'd love to be able to put  "stupid" stickers on their vehicles. Top on my list would be people who don't signal. Then people who don't wait their turn at 4-way stops. Then people who use cell phones and drive like drunks.  And people who don't look carefully when they pull out from the side or make a left turn.  They should get a new sticker every time they do it.  Some people's cars would be covered with "stupid" stickers, and you'd know to stay well away from them.

On a similar note, I almost got into trouble yesterday while riding.  Some fool decided to pull out from the curb with his right turn signal on... I suspected something was up when the car was creeping along the side of the road.  The guy pulls out right ahead of the car in front of me, causing him to slam on his brakes.  That's when I found out that my OEM tires might be just a little too old and hard... my rear wheel grips like a pat of butter  :o  good thing I recovered from the fishtailing!  I guess I gotta practice my braking more

I would think mototcycles are more 'visible' at night because people are looking for lights rather than shapes, right?  Good thing all is well, ashman :)

Yeah thanks. People in Mobile are insane lots of old craped out red neck pick-ups ect ect. Last thurs alone this girl almost rear ended me. I wait at a light and then hear ERRRRRRRR! look behind nd this girl is skidding toward me dry condtions I was fine. If it were wet, my ass would of been road kill. No offense to woman but man their are some bad female drivers out there. And the same for men, but I dunno every accident i've been involved in has been a womans fault. (four total) Then the girl has the nerve to cut me off a block later!!! I have patience and control but that was too much I kicked down two gears got next to her and made sure she saw my hand gestures  :nana: and my very obvious anger.  :x

You risk your ass everytime you get on two wheels only thing you can do is make yourself seen and be defensive. A little luck doesnt hurt eaither. I'm sure their could be dozens of near miss stories on this board each week. Lets just be thankful in the end were all still around to come back to GStwin.com
