Does anyone know if the stock GS front wheel will work with a 99' Kat FE?  From what I've gathered the 99' Kat uses a 3.5" wide rim,  GS is 3.0". 

Appreciate any feedback.

Its a different front axle , why not just run the 98+ katana front wheel?

Was thinking I could just get new rotors and reuse the wheel.  I'll go with the 98+ wheel if it fits.

Actually the 98-02 Kat uses the same axle as the 88-97 Kat. The axle changed in 03 but is still the same diameter.

By saying 98, you mean what... Kat or GS?

I do not know if 98+ Kat rotors will bolt to GS wheels.

ben2go has posted a link to the German GS forum about fitting the 98+ Kat 3.5" wheel in the GS forks.

The 98+ Katana wheel is a direct swap into the GS front end,so a GS wheel will swap over to the 98+ Katana front end.It will look very narrow.

Sorry if I wasn't clear and my post is confusing. I was referring to 98+ Kat front wheel.  I'm trying to figure out if I can use any Kat wheel (89'+) on a 99' Kat FE and if 99' rotors are interchangeable with earlier years. I'm in the middle of buying a FE from a fellow member and everything (including rotors) is included except for the front wheel.

Yes, rotors should be interchangeable too.

The axle is different length just same size diameter.
