Which rear shock to get for a big fat bastard.

Hey guys, I have a 99 GS500E, and the bike is pretty sweet and treating me nice.  I want to upgrade the rear shock.  I've searched around and read articles and I have a question.  I see some people think the GSXR 600 shock is a bit too stiff for the street.  Well I weigh 325 lbs, so its like riding two up all the time on the bike.  In a situation like that would a GSXR shock be the way to go or should I still just go with the Katana shock?

Also, which ever shock I should go for can you give specific year models to search for a shock from?  I'm not afraid to do any cutting or grinding on the shock I've got plenty of tools at home.  Thanks for any advice!

How tall are you??  Do you want to jack the rear end up by a couple of inches??  Depending on just how big a fat bastard you are, maybe try an RF900 shock cause it'll raise it up by a bit, and I've heard they're pretty darn stiff for most riders.
GS500E with a bunch of cool stuff!

yeah i have the same problem im 270 and 6'5"  so that why im looking at the gxr shock that buddah is selling bc my fiance rides with me as well so that another 130 so for me the gxr shock is a good choice right?
04 lower fairing-less, V&H full, gsxr750 rear shock, kat FE (buddha special), 15 tooth F sproket, ZG SPT windshield, heated grips, K and N Lunchbox, G-Pack      to be added - bandit rear wheel, full luggage set, paint, spencer seat

I'm only 5'10" with a 30" inseam, so I'm not terribly tall.  But I figure once I get on the bike the shock is going to compress, its what's happening now but pretty bad.  Worse, when I go into a turn it feels like the bike is coming out from under me, which I've read is because the shock is too soft.

Tall & fat = SV shock.

Or for me

Short and fat = Katana 600/750 shock + drop links.
PICS are GONE never TO return.
