i was looking around for some winter jackets.  i have the joe rocket phoenix jacket and gloves.  both are great for the summer time, but i need gear for the colder weather.  i know the basllistic is a great jacket for the winter and that it's real warm.   i was wondering if the meteor jacket was just as warm without being as long?

Gisser

Yup.  Meteor has the same storm flap and zip in thinsulate liner.  All-season protection though not exactly a "winter jacket."  I've heard that the Ballistic is better at hiding a paunch if that is an issue.

When are they going to design windproof blue jeans?

I have the Ballistic, and couldent possibly be more impressed.
It is 100% waterproof, and keeps me warm down to around 50deg. Below that and I wear a fleece under my jacket.
I have been absolutly soaked from driving rain, and truck spray, and everything under my jacket is bone bry.

My Fiance has the metor, and it is a great jacket, but it isnt as waterproof, and the zip in liner is only a vest were as the Ballistic is full sleeve.

I am glad I spent a little more for the Ballistic, well worth the money.

Gisser

You must be comparing two different generations of Joe Rocket.  Meteor 3.0 has the same waterproof barrier as the Ballistic 3.0 and a full sleeve liner.  Yes, good jackets for the money.

I have the Ballistic!  Very nice :thumb: .  110% waterproof and I love the looks!  I wear a no sleeve vest with mine at around 20+ degrees.  I'm always warm except my hands, which are covered only by a paper thin leather glove.  Go with the Ballistic, you won't regret it!

Fantastic!  Just what I've been waiting for and they even have my size.  Thanks.

I find Cordura pants to be not very practical and it scratches the paint.  I'll be sure to review the denim Barrier Pants at a later date.

I could be wrong about the dirrerences between the Ballistic, and meteor.
But either way, my jacket is the 4.0 not 3.0
