I have front disc noise that is pretty annoying and very similar to this:

No circlips are missing nor I can see anything else wrong with it but it does have play which rattles over bumps and sounds like crap. Anybody can point me out in a good direction on where to get a new disc? I checked ebay, not much there, plus a used one might have the same rattle in it. I also googled a bit, new one is priced at $267 at some place... sound a bit pricey!
So I thought I'd ask for pointers, where do you guys go for parts? I'm in Canada but that does not matter that much. Thanks

Hmmmm, i wonder if a disc from another disc from say a kat or converting to  a kat FE would work.

In that video it appeared that the mounting point for the disc were loose, is that how your is? I bought a used disc in the past. If you check the minumum thickness for a gs disc, then you can try to buy a used disc with a lot of life left in it. I'm not sure how much a new aftermarket one would run.

By mounting points you mean "rivets"? Yes, there is some play in them just like in the disc in the video.

There is a set of racers from the old days that used to run disks with rivet pin preload washers turned the wrong way ... far less rolling resistance. I dont believe it hurts anything, but you will have trouble balancing it.

Ok... but how does that info help me? Or am I missing something?

It doen't hurt anything. Just make sure the bolts are on tight and ride it.

Ah, gottcha. I kinda figured that too. However, my wife's annoyed with the rattle.
