i changed the title to reflect more what i am looking for

i think i want to move...to a state that is warm.  say Georgia, Florida, Arizona, Nevada, new mexico or California.  if any of you guys are single like me and are looking for a change well lets talk about moving.  i am pretty much open to anything.  i have my military pensions so i am able to pay my own way.  or if you are already in one of these "ride year round" states and need a room mate let me know.  i was thinking of Sept at the earliest and Oct at the latest.   i don't think i will be bringing much with me, prolly just what ever i can get on my bike with me and what i can cheaply ship.    so  let me know

please god , jesus almighty no! Stay in Canada! please please please. I don't understand why you want to come here when you bash the USA and say that we have a terrible political and medical system.

besides: what about all the hockey games and Celine Dion concerts you are going to miss?

Nahh, wrong approach. Just move to Labrador for the winter, Frankie, and NB (or Maine, where your profile thinks you are) will seem toasty warm and pleasant. Heck, York county is practically orange groves. I tried going out in the big wide, warm world once (from Maine to DC) and it was just too dang far South (and overpopulated in the extreme - LA is about as dense as I can handle, and I don't mean los angeles - if you are from Maine some of the time, you know where I mean.) Pennsylvania (at least some parts) might work - I've reeled back in to the base of the Greens, since I need both mountains and seasons, along with breathing room.

Take a swing around Cape Breton before you leave it behind. Pennsylvania hasn't got anything quite like it.

I wouldn't want to live in the Deep South (with the possible exception of Atlanta). I was born in Alabama, grew up  in Tennessee, and I'm moving to New England (Just south of New Hampshire) in 3 days. I can't wait. No hard feelings to anyone who likes the South, but it's not for me. I could get behind living in NoVA or the more rural parts of Maryland I guess, though.

What do you think of the Puget Sound area? I visited a few years back and I remember it having pretty good weather.

Hey Frankie, you should consider Connecticut if you are interested in attaining an education at a very reduced cost, all the while you colllect you tax free G.I.  Bill $$. That's why I stayed in this state, but it does come at the cost of higher cost of living. If you are interested in moving here let me know and I will be a point of contact for you! weal I have lived in London for about a year( a bit outside London to be exact) and it seemed no worse than the US, I do prefer the US for other reason but London was great I just couldn't get the darn accent down. Oh and why was I their it was a job relocation we do business for almost every airlines around the world and I got sent their to build a hydraulic test stand and a diesel test stand about a little less than a year. My engineer was sent to Kuwait air for 5 months for teaching classes for the mechanics and tech their.

I have a house that's sitting empty as hell right now.  2 bedroom, 1 bath sitting on 2 lots in Crenshaw, MS.  Warm, nice twisties all around, and quiet little town.  House is not in the best shape, but I'm asking $400.00/month rent.  Has an 8 x 12 shed that is wired with electricity.  45 minutes from Memphis, TN, 30 minutes away from Tunica, MS (gambling capital of the south), and several state parks within an hour ride.  Can provide pics if interested.

frankieG

lewis i am VERY interested...do you live nearbye? is it a good neighbourhood?  please send me pics.  if it needs TLC i am up for that.

I live 10 minutes away from the house.  My wife, two kids and myself outgrew the house and bought a 3 bedroom home a few months ago.  The nighberhood is decent.  It's a small town.  Only about 920 residents.  The demographics are like this:

Races in Crenshaw:

Black (71.5%)
White Non-Hispanic (27.6%)
Hispanic (0.5%)
American Indian (0.5%)

I'll be home tomorrow afternoon, and will take a few pics of the house on my way home.  I'll look around on my computer here at work and see if I can find any pics of it as well.

We own the home outright, so you don't have to worry about us selling it.  It's paid off completely.  The front yard has several tall pecan trees, and there is a huge fig tree on the east side of the house that makes the best figs I've ever eaten.  We've not advertised the house is for rent because we're being kind of careful as to who we rent to.  Anyway, I'll see if I can get some pics for you.

Have you ever been in Mississippi during the summertime Frankie?  100 degrees F along with almost 100% humidity isn't fun even for me, and I've lived here most of my life.  The mosquitoes aren't to be played with.  I'd just hate for you to get down here and hate it because of the hot weather.  Wintertime, it usually stays around the 40 degree mark, but can dip below zero on occasion.  Snow is almost non-existent here.  We get snow maybe every three or four years......Maybe.
