Hello everyone this site rocks! I am here everyday now and i just love the wisdom that permeates on this site. anyways i have a 2005 gs 500f and i am investigating the possibilities of rejetting.  I can not afford the vance and hines exhaust yet or a k&N so should i rejet?  I ride two up a BUNCH cause my wife likes to ride more than me, which is alot! So i feel i might like to get some more Low end power. so i have read a lot of the post about rejetting and i think i understand that i have to know what jets i already have which i have no clue how to find out. what steps should i take ?

Check the wiki

Also if you are looking for a little more power for getting off the line you might want to get a 15t front sprocket. When I installed one it really helped getting going when riding two up.

What a great reply!  I think i pretty well understand now. that poor mans rejetting pictorial is GREAT!  So adding just washers will help the mixture? then later when i get exhaust and lunch box i can actually rejett.  well hopefully i can do it all in one night :icon_mrgreen:

The wiki is your best friend! It has some sources for the sprocket, i got mine used on this board but they aren't that expensive new. It took me about 15 mins to install then a few more to tighten up the chain.
