It's a message that's been posted many times before, but one that's quite necessary.

After nearly a year with my GS, it's time to say goodbye to the bike.  She'll go up on the ol' auction block (CL and here of course) within about two weeks. She was (still is) an awesome bike. Somehow I racked up nearly 4,000 miles on her without hardly realizing it.

I'd also like to thank all of you who answered stupid newbie questions and who sold me the spare parts to keep her running beautifully. The GS is a darn fine first bike.  ;) You guys are one of the best forums that I've been a part of. I really enjoyed the friendly, open atmosphere.

(PS: The good part is that I'm selling my GS to make way for my second bike. My daddy just bought me a clean BMW R75/5.  8))

Congrats on the new bike! I wish my dad would buy me things like that... My sister got a brand new $20,000 car for her high school graduation, four years later I got a cell phone... Times have changed for my family  :icon_rolleyes:

The BM should be a good relaxed cruiser if you're not in a hurry. I had a 60/6 for a few years and really liked it, but the /5s are a nicer machine and the bigger motor should give you similar performance to the GS but in a more relaxed way. Enjoy!

You can still stop by and say Hi!  Good luck with the new bike, and sorry to see you go...

Have you considered keeping the GS just for kicks?  I think I would.
Attack but have a back up plan

I would keep the GS for kicks ... but I don't think I'll have the room for two bikes (let alone the money to keep both up and running). Someone else should be able to have fun on the ol' GS. Will be sorry to see her go.
