OK i need to sync up my carbs. 

Has anyone done this before.

What kind of device did you use?  yard stick with hose and ATF/ vacuum gauge?

How do I increase or decrease the vacuum in each carb?  open/close mixture screws?, mess with needle washers? plug slide holes?

i have K&N lunchbox, open pipes(basically), 150 main, 40 pilot.  3 washers under each needle.

i have a rough spot from 5-8k rpm at WOT when im in gear, but not when in neutral.

I used the $5 carb sync tool (yardstick, etc.) for the first time last week with good results.

All sync'ing is is making sure the butterfly valves open and close at the same time.  There's a single screw for that adjustment, located in between the carbs.  It's on the spring loaded part that the throttle cable attaches to.

Sorry, that's as technical a description as I can give.  I'm sure someone else will come along with a step-by-step write up of the procedure, with pictures and all, if you wait long enough. 

Okay, feeling a bit pathetic after that reply, I actually walked out to the garage and got my manual.

The screw  you adjust is the......wait for it....."throttle balance screw".  (So maybe having the technical name of it doesn't help at all.)  It's still where I described previously, and is a real pain to get at if you have the tank attached.  This is where a test tank could really come in handy.  Search the forums, lots of folks are using lots of different el cheapo variations of the test tank.  I would recommend it, as I did mine with my tank still on and had I not had a flex-shaft screwdriver, I still wouldn't be done.

k thanks i think i knwo what your talking about and ill mess with it today.  yeah taking the tank off it a pain.
