Hey guys (and girls)! Like the title says, my GS500F is my first real venture into bikes (other than mopeds when I was a kid) and so far I love it! I was looking at a used 2004 that had some damage from being laid down. The price was still high so I decided to look around. I'm glad I did because I came across this black/silver 2007 with only 173 miles! I ended up picking it up for $3500 with a nice helmet and gloves...this is about what the dealer wanted for the wrecked 2004 with 9600 miles.

I have always been a huge car freak...import, muscle, classic....4 wheels and I love it. Now I have moved my attention to 2 wheels and I am trying to soak up as much info as possible. I know learning comes with experience but anything I can be warned about is great. I am taking the 16 hour Ohio safety course as we speak after having only a few weeks or riding. I don't want to jump into anything at full speed so I am taking it easy, staying humble because I don't want to f-up my spotless bike yet.  I look forward to learning more and this site looks like it has a lot to offer!

Here it is:

I love 'em both!  Your Accord is just a tad nicer than my 1987 model.  :icon_rolleyes:
GS looks great in Silver!  Glad to see someone has already removed that pesky fender!  Where did you take the MSF, and what days was it available?

Thanks everyone, I am very happy with how the transaction played out. I was actually planning on cuttign down the fender on the 2004 and then when I saw the 2007, the previous owner already had the same idea so it worked out well. As far as the MSF course, I live in Columbus, Ohio and they do Tuesday or Thursday class (4hrs) and then Saturday and Sunday (6hrs each) at the Department of Transportation. They are almost every week but what sucks is they fill up very fast....like people in my class booked in early spring. I was able to get in by sheer luck...they allow "walk-ins". Whoever is registered and doesn't show up by 6:00pm gerts their seat raffled off. I had the lucky ticket last night after going to several walk in classes and not making it.

welcome to the forum.

that's a nice looking gs, and the accord isn't shabby either. we have an old 97 model ex wagon with 220,000 miles on it that runs / drives like new. keep your oil changed and don't beat on her too much and she'll serve you a long looooong time.

as far as the gs goes, just don't float the valves (redlining isn't good for her) and keep her oil changed and she'll also serve you a long loooong time.

check your tire pressures, check your chain slack, and dump your float bowls (occasionally) to get rid of the water and your gs will continue to serve you well. forget teh interstate (it sucks) and head for the twisties. enjoy the ride, ride SAFE !

:)
