I took off my mirros today cause Im replacing one thats broke.  Then repositioned and tightened my handlebars.  Tooka ride and found the turning to seem lighter!  And it looks way cooler without them too..   8)

I will take a pic this week and post.

Im not too sure if the wieght of the mirrors or the drag coefficient really makes that much difference, but ive never tried.  Maybe the new position of the Bars since you said you (re)positioned them.  I love the mirrorless look.

I use an easily removable Velcro bar end mirror that works great, and only cost me about $17. Just one on the left side is all you need.

I dont know. I sware it seems lighter when u turn the handlebars, especially while just sitting on the bike.. Just thought it was nifty.

hmmmmmmmm maybe I should get some bar end mirros... but I wonder if you have to get rid of the bar end wieghts? wouldnt this make the bike more susceptable to vibration in the handlebars?

I just bought some bar end mirrors to put on my '92 with '89 clip-ons. I plan on taking out the bar end weights and installing the bar end mirrors since they install into the bar, not around it. I'll let you know how it goes.

No mirrors will be cool right up until the instant you get clobbered in the ass by a semi.   ;)

Keep the mirrors and use them like a manic obsessive compulsive on speed.   :)

I hardly ever use my mirrors the only thing I can see are my elbows, I just keep em on the bike so I am legal. Watching your rearviews obsessively is a good way to rear end a cage, just ride fast enough that you don't need to worry about being rear ended and head check for lane changes. :thumb:

Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

I think what Geep is implying is that you should keep an eye on your behind probably during stops and slow traffic for vehicles coming from behind. I always do this in case I see a car coming too fast or for what ever reason they do not see me stopping. A quick blip on the throttle and I don't become a roadkill sandwich.

better yet... mount a mirror to your helmet...

come out with somethin like this...

I'm SUUUURE you could mount one on your lid... or 2.

I could only ever see my arms with the stock mirrors. With my bar end mirror I can always see when I need to.

I seldom use my mirrors accpet when a car is in my blind spot about to merge into me.  Then i nail it and move away.  Thats abotu the only good ive got out of them ;)  But mostly, I glance over the shoulders for lane changes, and i constantly check over my shoulders when stopped at a light The mirrors dont make me feel safe as rear view.  Things seem to far off and i cant judge the speed of the wrecking ball comign my way.  The Off ramps are short and  angled so bad you cant see anythign coming any ways.  SO for me, mirror less would be no issue.
