After one month having LOTS of fun on my GS, I'm hoping to meet a few kindred spirits around Sydney... anyone interested in a GS group ride one weekend? A couple of options would be:
- south - the Royal, Jamberoo, Kangaroo Valley
- north - Wyong, Mangrove Mtn, Wisemans
- west - Bells Line

If anyone is interested, just reply to this post with your preferred ride and a few dates, and I'm happy to try and coordinate. My skill level is probably "medium" - keeping to the speed limit, up to 50% above recommended speed in bends :-)

I'm on the south side of town, and my level of effort extends to riding south only. I havent done much riding apart from commuting lately, so my pace is limited to a dawdle.

I know that this was posted up a few weeks back, but I just thought I'd go on record to say that I'm pretty hip to the idea of a group ride sometime.

Likewise. I bought my gs500F 2 weeks ago and have so far only ridden south of Sydney. If anyone wants to organise something up north count me in :)

ok sounds like we have a bunch! How about a ride up the old Pacific Hwy, Yaramalong, Kulnura, then we can come back either down through Peats Ridge and Berowra Ferry or take the longer route through Wisemans Ferry? Anyone interested please post a few dates that would suit, and ride preferences, and we can get on the road. I could do the weekend of the 23rd of August

Thanks for your replies, all. How about a rough plan for the 24th; half day or so starting around 9 at the meeting place of choice, getting back mid afternoon. Two ideas seem to be north to Kulnura then Wisemans, or West to Lithgow on Bells line (and maybe meet up with Bubba Z?). Let me know your preferences and I will firm up the details next week. On motowhere.com these are:

- Epping Kulnura Wisemans - 230km loop
- Epping Richmond Lithgow - 260km return

My preference would be the Epping Kulnura Wisemans loop.

ok all; 24th August, Epping Kulnura Wisemans loop it is. Are you happy to start at 9am at Berowra Mobil servo? I will put the ride up on netrider as well; here's a link to the starting point:

Hopefully 9am is good for all - family commitments in the late arvo for me, so I aim to get back around 3pm. Pace will be within speed limits, cruising but having a bit of fun in the curves. There is a small amount of freeway riding, otherwise its all quiet country roads. Pass the word along - the more the merrier!

Well, it's official - two GSes is a coincidence, but a string of five GSes barrelling down the road is a conspiracy;)

Good ride, guys.

Great day  :)  Really enjoyed myself. While the pace was quite casual for most i found it challenging yet safe at the same time. Count me in for any future ride plans  :icon_mrgreen:

Big thanks to john for leading the ride (and showing me the way home)

jawntybull

No worries guys - thanks for your comments. I had a great time too - sounds like on the next one we can crank the pace up a little too. I like the idea of Bells Line of Road one day...

Hi, I'm the one you couldn't remember the name of!! (it's Dave...)
Good to meet you guys, I'll come for the whole ride next time.
I enjoyed riding with all GS's, at least you know what the other bikes in the ride are capable of.
See you next time,

Dave
