Lag off idle...

Well, I've had my GS500 for couple of months now(http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=42772.0)... well, in all honesty, it's supposed to be my wife's bike but I ride it unless we're both riding at the same time. Seems like I managed to sort out the idle hovering issue by finding the sweet spot at the idle adjuster screw after fiddling with it for a bit.
However, after about 20-30min of riding, the bike develops a lag right off idle. Which makes it hard to ride and especially turn right/left from a stop. When you let the clutch out, there is an obvious spot when you have to give it throttle(more then you should) to prevent it from stalling. My wife already dropped it once turning right from a stop sign on a hill(the bike stalled), and I'm pretty sure this has something to do with it. I just went for a ride and tried turning the idle slightly up, but that brings back the hovering idle issue. The bike had work done by a shop back in June, just before I bought it. So it should not really have an issue... but it seems like it does. When we took our course in June, I rode a GS500 during our last day, in the city and on the highway. I don't remember it being laggy and having no bottom end. This makes my CB750 quite easier to ride at really slow speeds, in fact I turn low speed intersection corners in second gear w/o problems, while on the GS there's always fear of it stalling and consequently going on its side.

I will get a can of seafoam as I want to run it through my Honda as well, but in case that does not work, any ideas? Here's wifey on the GS:

PS> I just went down and started the bike to give you an idea about throttle response, seems fine for a twin, let me know if that lags too compared to yours:

The idle is low in the video because the bike had been cooling down for 20min or so before I started it to take the shot.

Thanks for the help!

Here are a couple of threads where the bike idles fine, but dies on throttle.

Your bike may have similar problems.

And here's a throttle lag that turned out to be a clogged pilot jet:

Once you've been through those, let us know if you have any questions!

Have you adjusted the throttle cable? Mine loosened up quite a bit in the first 300 miles or so, and a quick cable adjustment of the throttle and clutch cables helped a lot for me.

Thanks, will read through that. However, my bike does not die, just seems to lag. I'm not sure how much oomph it should have down off the line.

No, I actually did not, will try that! It'd be great if that helped. And what kind of trouble did you have to have to adjust it?

EDIT: I should add that the tank has been acid treated and cleaned when the shop performed the engine work back in June.

The throttle just felt loose and sloppy, very poor response. Owners manual tells you how to do it- takes 5 minutes or less.

Don't have one, will have to search the forum. ;)

Oh, wait, I do have Haynes PDF.
