Im looking for a 2007 GS500F engine, or anything compatible. I blew the engine in mine, and i'm still paying for it, so no point in letting it go to waste. I can't find an engine ANYWHERE, locally or otherwise. I know im new here, but im not a scammer and im willing to pay first, and shipping or pickup or whatever, this is just the first place i've found where people buy/sell/trade in GS500 parts. I havent ever even seen one on ebay, so i figured i'd try a place where people know and love GS500's (like me). I'm interested in any engine that is compatible and runs well, or even perhaps a wrecked full bike that I can salvage it from.

If nobody has an engine for sale, even information on what year and model engines are compatible would be greatly apprieciated. There seems to be no information on the web about engine swaps for these bikes.

Like i said, i know i'm new, but i just really dont like seeing my bike sitting in my father's shop on stands while im driving a car to work every day  Any help would be greatly apprieciated.

Email is papahyooie@hotmail.com if anyone wants to talk.

EDIT: Im around conway arkansas, if that helps.

I have cracked open a 05 motor that too was blown ... all I can say is ... freaking POS has some weird sheite, a couple of design flaws and very pretty paint and swoopy plastic confusing people into thinking its a GSXR ... hey, it looks pointy like a GSXR, same colors as a GSXR, same size and weight as a GSXR, so it should be able to keep up with a GSXR ... easy right ... yea ... BS. Sheiete blows up ...
Design flaws ...
Oil galley to oil cooler and back to sump ... WTH ... high pressure side to low pressure side ... short circuit.
Head Gaskets are thin single blade type ... we used to have 3 of these razor blades, so in high stress, it will blow, and save the motor ...
Dunno what else they did, but this is definitely BS design.
Anyway, I have a blown 05 motor, so I am not really gonna be of any help. But you may want to get a 89-95 motor. It will fit, just use your crank trigger and black box etc etc.
Or get its black box, and its crank trigger.
I may opt to part out one bike I may get next week or so. You can come over drive it and know its good, take off its motor and go back ... I am in charlotte NC.
Cool.

Ooo On a related note, they seem to have improved the labelling on their camshafts, put nice washers and even have a machined releif with 2 steel washers separated by a wave spring washer ... excellent job for keeping the cam shaft side drift down. That wave washer takes the cake. No one should cam shaft side drift on an 04+ if this is the setup. It will take in oil and cushion it well.

Well, i know its not a gsxr (personally i wish it was, but I love it anway) and i didnt blow it from trying to keep up with them lol.
Personally I have no clue what any of that is, lol. Apparently there is alot wrong with the newer motors? I'm not opposed to getting an older motor, as long as it fits, I just want a motor so that my bike actually moves. The 89-95 motors will fit?
North carolina is quite a step from me. My father is a trucker, so there is a (very) small chance that I might be able to pick that up if you choose to part out the bike, but i doubt it, and I can't justify the trip myself. I dont suppose you might ship it? Like i said, im new so i'll jump through any hoops i have to, and as how you seem to be quite a respected member of this community, from what i read, I wouldnt be worried about it. Of course if there's no way, i totally understand. But in the event that you do part out the bike im very interested in it.

Well it was supposedly 129 to ship to CA. Prolly lot less to Arkansas. I want someone to ride it and know its not got any problems, we are parting out this thing on a whim (sorta).

well in the event that i would be able to come check it out, how much for it? If you would ship it i'd be awesome but i'm seeing absolutely nada locally, so if I can find a time that I can come up and pick it up, at this point I'm willing to.

Greyhound was 129 to CA. I should go back there and check.
Gimme a few days ...
