Just as the title states, I am looking for a good running Katana motor. Hoping for one that is in good shape with low miles. Let me know what you have. I am in 08822....not looking to drive more than 100 or so miles.

Craigslist ... I am helping one guy fit one, he found it with my help 3 miles off his house ... and I live 20 miles away.
I have been buying everything locally so far, but ~ a month ago, I blurted out to one ebay seller that I fit kat FE onto GS ... and he had no idea what a GS was ... he parts out bikes all day for a living, but is not a long term rider ... and instantly, all his $$ doubled on FE stuff ... WTF ... Luckily I near about cleaned him out, he's got 88 Kat ... which I dont want ... ha ha I showed him ... till he gets more kat stuff ... Anyway, I have 4-5 good ebayers in a 1 hour radius. So, like craigslilst it, and buy FE and rear wheel (98+) etc etc
Cool.

What would you consider a reasonable price for a Kat motor, what should I look for since I will likely not get to hear it run? The motor in the Kat I just bought is F*$&ed. I've got a few responses to a want ad I posted on craigslist, ranging from $50 for a motor that had previously been seized but guy claims it runs now to 450 for a motor the guy said had 7k on it and it was a 99.
I was hoping to pay closer to $200 for a good running motor.

Wait for winter ... In my area I am still dealing with the 350-450 ... but thankfully I dont need a kat motor. I scored a seca motor for 150 and it ran like a charm ... but that guy was really really hard to deal with ... like I had to be there at 12 noon on friday and he was 200 miles away, and he wont see you anything else ... just stupid clown ... and I had to buy off ebay and had to pick it up etc etc ... but the seca ran like a charm and it had 7K on it he said ... and certainly he was being honest. Difficult, but honest.
